Role Summary/Purpose:

We’re looking for a member of our Manufacturing Engineering team who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-project environment. Reporting to the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, you will assume responsibility and ownership for the design and development of custom production processes, applications, automatic test software programs, database access, and the continuous improvement of manufacturing methods and products.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Manufacturing process design, implementation, and process verification
  • Manufacturing engineering support for in-production products when needed
  • Write and execute manufacturing design specification documents and test plans
  • Participate as an extended member of new product development core teams to understand NPI needs and processes required in manufacturing to transition a product to manufacturing
  • Provide technical assistance both high-level and demonstration level, to support representatives and process users
  • Demonstrate leadership in manufacturing by providing outstanding support both internally and externally to resolve issues and provide effective, novel, and timely solutions to manufacturing issues. Provide support in a prompt, hands-on, and professional manner
  • Focus on continuous improvement to enhance product sustainability and profitability. Continuous improvements include, but are not limited to actions that will affect process yield, process duration, product quality, and direct Bill of Materials costs
  • Contribution in DFx reviews including, but not limited to, design for cost, design for test, design for manufacturability, and design for assembly, at key points through the product development to ensure commercial viability of the product

Education and Professional Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent technical background);
  • Minimum 5+ years of related professional experience focusing on process development and implementation in a low-volume high mix manufacturing environment;

Required Skills:

  • Programming experience in TestStand with various database interfaces
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Good personal organization as well as written and oral communication skills
  • Programming experience in Assembly Language
  • Proficient in C/C++ and/or Java programming languages
  • Experience in an ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read, interpret and create product specifications, schematics, and mechanical drawings
  • Sense of urgency and commitment to resolving issues in a timely manner

Desired Characteristics/Additional Assets:

  • NPI experience transitioning new product designs into manufacturing
  • Experience working in a cross-functional, project based core team environment
